Equinor & Techstars Energy Accelerator

To reach the goal of net zero by 2050, we need technologies and solutions that do not yet exist. Equinor and Techstars Energy Accelerator is a mentor-led programme that supports startups and companies on their journeys to reduce emissions and shape the energy transition.

The climate crisis and the energy transition are global challenges. Managing this transition is the biggest test for humanity — and also the biggest test for Norway and companies like Equinor. Technology and innovation will play an important role in achieving the goal of net zero in 2050.

Searching for better solutions

Nine companies from around the world receive mentoring to develop their solutions with the goal of contributing to the energy transition. Follow their journey over 13 weeks as they work towards Demo Day – the grand presentation at the end of the programme where they will showcase their solutions for the energy industry to potential investors and truly put their companies to the test. The Equinor & Techstars Energy Accelerator programme is an opportunity for world-class energy founders to accelerate the growth of their startups, and rapidly develop their technologies

  • By taking part of this 13-week mentorship-driven programme the founders and their teams are hosted at Equinor's office in Oslo for 3 months and get support from Equinor, and our partners, Techstars and Capgemini.
  • Equinor helps the startups with expert advice, mentoring and networking opportunities.
  • A pool of more than 100 mentors from different industries and companies, including Equinor, is available for the startups during the programme period.
  • The programme ends with Demo Day — an exciting day where startups get to pitch to a large audience in Oslo and showcase their progress and achievements.
  • In 2023 The Equinor & Techstars Energy Accelerator programme was kicked off for the fifth time with selected 9 startups, from 6 different countries, all working in exciting technologies.

Why do we do it and why is tech development important for Equinor?

  • In Equinor we support innovation and technology development because we need those to create solutions for the future, and especially to accelerate our transition into a fair net zero future. We value the different perspectives that founders bring with them.
